Bali adalah sebuah pulau di Indonesia, sekaligus menjadi salah satu provinsi Indonesia. Bali terletak di antara Pulau Jawa dan PulauLombok. Ibukota provinsinya ialah Denpasar, yang terletak di bagian selatan pulau ini. Mayoritas penduduk Bali adalah pemeluk agama Hindu. Salah satu daya tarik iPhone 3G adalah tersedianya fasilitas gps (aGPS) yang akurat dalam menentukan posisi. GPS ini jg diintegrasikan dengan GoogleMaps. Sayangnya untuk di Indonesia, Google sampai saat tulisan ini dibuat belum menyediakan peta khususnya kota-kota besar di Indonesia secara lengkap dan akurat. Mungkin karena nama lokasi, bangunan, kantor, perbelanjaan, dan sebagainya yang belum lengkap dan sering berubah-ubah. Tapi tidak perlu khawatir karena Google telah menyediakan peta hybrid yang saya rasa sudah sangat akurat khususnya unuk nama jalan dan arah jalur kendaraan.
Peta hybrid adalah peta yang berasal dari peta satelit yang telah dikombinasikan dengan garis-garis jalan dan disertai dengan nama jalan dan bahkan nama gedung atau bangunan yang telah diketahui. Menurut saya peta hybrid ini justru terlihat lebih cantik karena kita bisa secara langsung melihat lokasi yang dilalui secara nyata (tentu ya sesuai dengan kondisi pada saat peta satelit diambil). Dengan berbekal peta hybrid ini kita bisa memanfaatkan iPhone 3G sebagai alat penunjuk jalan layaknya pemandu jalan yang khusus dibuat untuk kendaraan bermotor.
Untuk memanfaatka fasilitas ini kita cukup menjalankan aplikasi Maps. Sebaiknya sebelum menjalankan aplikasi ini ada baiknya anda mematikan dahulu seting auto-lock agar iPhone tidak kembalj ke posisi stand-by. Setelah menjalankan aplikasi ini pilih peta hybrid terlebih dahulu, kemudian aktifkan gps dengan menekan tombol di kiri bawah. Apabila akan digunakan sebagai pemandu jalan, letakkan iPhone di dekat kaca depan mobil (sebaiknya menggunaka docking iPhone khusus). Sebelum anda memulai perjalanan pastikan gps telah menemukan posisi yang ditandai dengan munculnya lingkaran berwarna biru yang berkedip-kedip. Apabila peta yang terlihat terasa kecjl perbesarlah dengan menggunakan dua jari (telunjuk dan ibu jari) yang berdempetan dan disentuhkan ke layar iPhone kemudian digeser berjauhan seolah-olah sedang memelarkan benang (inilah salah satu kelebihan multi-touch iPhone yang juga digunakan untuk memperbesar tampilan pada berbagai aplikasi lain).

Setelah iPhone secara resmi hadir di Indonesia sejak 20 Maret lalu, mungkin banyak pengguna atau peminat iPhone yang belum mempersiapkan keperluan atau perangkat standar selain perangkat iPhone. Persiapan perangkat ini sangat penting agar iPhone bisa dipergunakan secara optimal bukan hanya sekedar untuk menelepon dan mengirim pesan saja tetapi jg sebagai multimedia player portabel, komputer mini, pengendali jarak jauh, dan banyak lagi fungsi lainnya.
Perangkat utama yang dibutuhkan adalah sebuah perangkat komputer yang bisa berupa PC, notebook, atau mac computer. Komputer yang akan digunakan harus berupa komputer tunggal yang artinya hanya satu unit komputer yang telah di-install iTunes untuk sebuah iPhone. Ini sangat penting karena semua informasi iPhone (data, musik, video, gambar, kontak, aplikasi, ringtone, dll) akan selalu disinkronisasikan dengan komputer ini sejak iPhone pertama kali dikenali oleh komputer. Selain itu akun Apple Store yang digunakan untuk koneksi dengan AppStore akan selalu terikat pada iPhone dan perangkat komputer untuk keperluan otentifikasi user. Penggunaan perangkat komputer lebih dari satu untuk sebuah perangkat iPhone akan menyebabkan informasi pada iPhone tertimpa atau terhapus pada saat disinkronkan pada komputer yang berbeda.
Selanjutnya yang diperlukan adalah koneksi internet yang terhubung melalui komputer ataupun langsung melalui iPhone.
Ketiga, sebuah akun Apple Store yang diperlukan untuk login ke AppStore untuk membeli aplikasi baik yang gratisan atau aplikasi berbayar. Pada perangkat komputer, akun ini jg diperlukan untuk otentifikasi aplikasi yang akan diinstall ke iPhone melalui iTunes.
Keempat, sebuah kartu gsm yang wajib harus disediakan. Sebaiknya jangan mengganti-gamti kartu sim pada iPhone karena dapat menyebabkan iPhone harus diaktifasi ulang.

Information has been leaked from a source inside AT&T regarding the new iPhone. The source who is “pretty high up in AT&Ts food chain” provided the following information to the BoyGeniusReport.
- New iPhone announcement around mid-June
- New iPhone will be faster and have a more seamless experience unmatched by any device (could be just talking about 3.0, but we think it’s also a new iPhone)
U-Verse iPhone application; will allow control of your home DVR (play, pause, rewind, etc.)
- The annual iPhone launch is “becoming a tradition.”
- Nothing official is being confirmed, but they said that people should prep for an exciting time this summer.
- AT&T is said to be working with Apple to create a unified product with an unparalleled experience across all their products and services.
- Apple’s 3.0 software should tell us where the iPhone platform is going… uh, k?
- They said customers shouldn’t need to choose from AT&T’s high-end devices because of features, they should choose based on preferences. The gap in capability should be filled with the new iPhone. Ok, bets on slide out QWERTY, autofocus camera, video sharing, blah blah?
- Seems like the higher speed HSDPA (7.2Mbps) is being hinted at too which should confirm the earlier rumors of the new Infineon chipset.
- The $99 3G netbook will start selling this summer, and the first one won’t be a Windows OS.

Proudly presenting the very first version of InstallerApp for Mac OS X. After quite some time in development, InstallerApp is now ready for your consumption.
InstallerApp is a Mac OS X tool that basically acts as a desktop client for Installer and Cydia repositories you use daily on your iPhone. It will refresh the sources, track package updates, and install packages to your iPhone over an USB cable — so you don’t even need Wi-Fi. InstallerApp will also install everything you need on the phone — do jailbroken iPhone is no longer a requirement — it will use the Pusher technology to install required software to your device.
InstallerApp can install software in two flavors — when you initially connect an iPhone, it will ask you to install some required components (that is mostly the Installer itself and its daemon, an application that will respond to InstallerApp requests on the USB). This can be installed on any iPhone, and if it was not jailbroken before, then it will not even open the system disk for writing — this to guarantee the security and integrity of your system.
If you wish to install software that uses APT/DPKG (probably most known on the iPhone world after the graphical front-end Cydia), then the system partition will have to be open for writing (most dpkg packages won’t work otherwise) — and yes, InstallerApp can do that too by downloading a special “ramdisk” that contains the open source components (such as dpkg, and some essential tools) and “pushing it” to the iPhone. We have rebuilt the components on our own as the ones packaged with other solutions were not built with all diligence and patience as they should have been.
Yes, once DPKG support is installed, InstallerApp can install Cydia packages — moreover, if you install something in Cydia on the iPhone (or Installer, of course), InstallerApp will know about it, and vice versa — so you can use the packager you feel more convienient at the particular time. Nifty, huh?
For the ones who already have jailbroken phones, you can install a packaged named InstallerApp Support from Installer’s System category. It will essentially put both InstallerApp daemon and the DPKG utilities right onto your phone, so you don’t have to Push twice.
An extra cool factor — the application icon was made by Max Rudberg of MaxThemes fame. The idea was to extend the original Installer icon to the desktop – which naturally come as a realization that maybe all iPhone icons are actually cubes — but we only see one edge of it when we use the iPhone. InstallerApp icon is an exact clone of the iPhone icon, except you can see it in whole now. 
Everything comes at a price… in this particular case, InstallerApp will freely allow you to browse the repositories and Push the device — but not install packages on it. To work with your iPhone, InstallerApp requires a license code. Each license code costs $7 and works for up to 3 devices — so you can use it to synchronize your phone family’s phones (or if you’re a geek like me, both of your iPhones, heh). If you have more than 3 iPhones, well, you can buy more than one license code.
To answer some questions that likely will arise… we already have a lot of stuff planned for the coming updates of InstallerApp, so there is more waiting for you. Windows version is in the development and will ship later (unfortunately, we don’t yet have a definite release date). iPod touch support is being investigated.

Apple has announced many new features in iPhone OS 3.0; however, only developers currently have access to the new software. However many of these features are available via free and paid apps found either in Cydia or the App Store.
Gizmodo has posted a nice list of features and associated applications which you can see below. You likely will need to jailbreak your iPhone before continuing.
Cut and Paste: Clippy (Cydia, Free while in Beta)
Apple’s ridiculously delayed cut and paste solution looks slick. Slicker than Clippy, the best unofficial C+P solution, which still gets the job done though.
GPS Turn-by-Turn: xGPS (Cydia, Free)
xGPS does use Google’s Maps, and does turn-by-turn brilliantly with active GPS tracking.
Tethering: iPhoneModem/PDANet (Cydia, Free)
Tethering via these jailbreak solutions works in the meantime, but be careful with how much data you use to not raise any eyebrows at the Death Star.
Email Multiple Photos: Emailpix (App Store, $US3)
Emailpix does it fairly smoothly, though, and gives you a choice of resolution to send to save time.
Bluetooth File Transfer: iBluetooth (Cydia, Free 15-day trial)
iBluetooth lets you pair with your computer to send and receive files. It’s kind of buggy, but does work
Universal Search: Search (Cydia, Free)
It doesn’t search your applications or your iTunes music like the 3.0 version, but Search is great for the most valuable searching situation: email. It also searches contacts, notes, SMS and the web.
Accelerometer Controls: mCoolPhone (Cydia, Free Trial/$3)
While mCoolPhones can’t touch your iTunes functionality, it lets you assign shake events to various other phone functions, like answering calls.
Notes Sync: iPhoneNotes (Mac-only desktop App, Jailbreak required. Free)
To pull off native notes sync, make sure you have OpenSSH installed on your jailbroken phone and grab iPhoneNotes, which will import all of your notes and also sync back any text file you have on your computer.
Background Apps/Push Notifications: Backgrounder (Cydia, Free)
You can use Backgrounder to force official App Store apps to keep running even when you switch away to another app. It’s great for keeping IM apps open and signed in while you do other things.
Landscape Keyboard: iRealSMS (Cydia, €10) and EasyWriter (App Store, Free)
For email, try the free EasyWriter App Store app, and for SMS, there’s iRealSMS, which also adds a number of other features for hardcore texters like quick-replying and advanced sorting.
MMS: SwirlyMMS (Cydia, $8) and Get MMS (App Store, $4)
The best is SwirlyMMS, but even that doesn’t work very well with AT&T’s MMS provider
Get MMS, on the other hand, makes receiving MMS messages via AT&T’s annoying web interface a little easier. It takes a screengrab of the login and password AT&T sends, and lets you save the attached video or photo.
Voice Memos: Epiphany (App Store, $2)
We love Epiphany, which buffers its recordings and only goes back in time to grab the important parts when you tell it to.

Reports from a reliable AppleInsider source state that the next-gen iPhone will have a Video Camera, as well as some other hardware changes. This does support thescreenshot found in the 3.0 beta firmware.
If in fact these rumors are true, we would likely see a Movie Editing App for the iPhone, with trimming like capabilities like the current voice memo app. And with AT&T boosting 3G speeds, could we see video files being transferred over the 3G network? Only time will tell.
Details are few and far between, but the information comes from a person who’s proven extremely reliable when predicting changes to the Cupertino-based company’s hardware offerings.
At this time, there’s no information to suggest that video recording support will be available through anything other than a upgraded rear-facing camera that will, of course, also take still photos at a higher resolution.
The addition, however, is reportedly just one of several hardware related tweaks that will surface in iPhone revisions due sometime between late spring and early fall. Another, that same person says, will be a significant boost to gaming hardware (likely via Imagination’s new multi-core PowerVR chips).
Video recording support has stood as one of the most glaring omissions from the iPhone since its inception two years ago, but the understanding is that Apple wants to get the feature “right.”

Belum pula iPhone muncul secara resmi di Indonesia, kini sebuah prototype casing berwarna hitam dengan finishing matte yang diklaim milik “next-generation” iPhone 3G 16GB hadir ditengah maraknya antusiasme penggemar smartphone canggih rilisan Apple.Foto prototype iPhone terbaru ini diyakini berasal dari sebuah situs berbahasa China yang kerap menampilkan produk-produk terbaru Apple yang memang dirakit di negeri tirai bambu tersebut.
Sebelum foto ini beredar, para telco provider telah mengakui bahwa produk baru bakal hadir pada pertengahan bulan Juni tahun ini. Pernyataan tersebut semakin diperkuat oleh wawancara Apple Marketing Chief, Phil Schiller kepada Macworld, yang menyatakan cycle atau usia produk iPhone akan bergulir pada Juni nanti.
Menilik lebih jauh foto casing berbahan plastik tersebut, tampaknya finishing cat matte bertekstur digunakan untuk mengurangi resiko terjatuh akibat finishing glossy yang licin.
Dari bahan serta finishing yang digunakan, Apple sepertinya akan memfokuskan iPhone kearah game. Asumsi tersebut berdasarkan atas semakin tingginya angka penjualan game di AppStore. Terlebih lagi, Apple Marketing Executive, Greg Joswiak, mengatakan bahwa iPhone dan iPod touch adalah “the future of gameplay”.
Jika dibandingkan dengan handheld game-console lainnya seperti Nintendo DS dan Sony PSP, iPhone berada didepan berkat fitur accelerometer, multi-touch display, bobot yang lebih ringan, dan distribusi penjualan aplikasi yang sangat mengesankan dari AppStore. Dalam waktu 3 bulan, AppStore telah memiliki sekitar 1500 judul game. Sedangkan DS dan PSP masih dalam kisaran 300 dan 600 judul saja.
Meski demikian, laju iPhone sebagai gaming device tidaklah mulus. Seorang developer dari perusahaan software Trism, Steve Demeter, menyebutkan terdapat banyak batasan pada iPhone untuk mengembangkan game lebih jauh. Diantaranya, pembatasan proses yang dilakukan prosesor, kemampuan grafis, dan manajemen memory masih dibawah Sony PSP yang memang dirancang untuk kebutuhan game.
Belum jelas apakah kemunculan generasi iPhone pada bulan Juni nanti akan menghapus semua kelemahan iPhone sebagai gaming device, kita tunggu saja

Meski Apple membatasi akses penggunaannya di negara-negara yang belum resmi menyediakan iPhone dengan langkah menguncinya (locked), namun tingginya antusias penggemar iPhone melahirkan sebuah trend untuk membuka kunci tersebut melalui metode yang dikenal dengan sebutan jailbreak dan pwnage.

Akhirnya hari ini Apple Store Indonesia hadir di apple.com. Masuknya nama Indonesia merupakan tantangan bagi Apple dalam memasuki pasar Indonesia yang terbilang pesat pertumbuhannya. Apakah Apple Store Indonesia ini nantinya akan benar-benar ada secara fisik di Indonesia, belum ada kepastiannya. Meskipun saat ini masih berada di bawah naungan Apple Singapura, tidak menutup kemungkinan pada akhirnya nanti Apple Store akan benar-benar berdiri di Indonesia.
Bila dilihat banderol harga yang tertera di Apple Store masih sangat tinggi. Hal ini dapat dimaklumi karena memang semua pasokan inventori tersebut masih berasal dari Singapura dan pelanggan terpaksa harus merogoh kocek lebih banyak untuk mendapatkannya langsung dari Apple. Meskipun demikian Apple memberikan penawaran istimewa sampai 24 November nanti berupa Jasa pengiriman gratis (minimum belanja Rp 700.000), Jasa ukir laser untuk iPod (engraving), kaos gratis, dan juga ada diskon untuk guru dan pelajar.
